OVERSPEED MECHANICAL SWITCH DEVICE
The overspeed mechanical switch is a protection device and consists of a centrifugal pendulum and a trigger,
which are actuated as a function of the turbine’s speed. Once the device is actuated, it commands the turbine’s
inlet closing (wicket gate, injectors, etc), independently of the electrical command of the governor.
- Electrical Contact: When actuated, it provides only the electrical signal for automation.
- Hydraulic Type: When actuated, it provides both hydraulic emergency turbine’s closing as well as electrical signal for automation
