GENERAL INFORMATION

The overspeed mechanical switch is a protection device and consists of a centrifugal pendulum and a trigger, which are actuated as a function of the turbine’s speed. Once the device is actuated, it commands the turbine’s inlet closing (wicket gate, injectors, etc,), independently of the electrical command of the governor.
