California Department of Water Resources \u2013 Citrus and Crafton Hills Pump Stations (CA) AVR upgrades for new pump\/motors<\/strong>

\"California <\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The aim of the major upgrade project was to improve the water delivery system to communities and to deliver water to groundwater spreading basins to recharge area aquifers:<\/p>\n

  • Pumps and motors (supplied by Weir Floway and WEG)<\/li>\n
  • Voltage regulators (supplied by Reivax) and Automation<\/li>\n
  • All engineering and commissioning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    While there were three (3) different motor sizes, Reivax supplied a uniformed design for all nine (9) synchronous motors.[\/vc_column_text]

    Scope of Work and Award
    \n<\/em><\/h4>\n

    [\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The total scope of the project work included new pumps, new motors, and new electrical equipment (excitation, automation, protection, etc.). With pumps being the largest component, Floway acted as the prime contractor and awarded the electrical scope to WEG.\u00a0 \u00a0Reivax supplied nine (9) new fully redundant Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVRs) for WEG\u2019s brushless synchronous motors, which were started across the line.[\/vc_column_text]

The six (6) voltage regulator cabinets for the Citrus plant is pictured above.<\/p>\n

    Redundant excitation controllers and redundant 75A, self-cooled, thyristor bridges were used together to provide the end-user with a very reliable system. With help of easy-to-use diagnostics, via a 15\u201d HMI screen, local staff can easily maintain and test the equipment, and if need be, replace any components.[\/vc_column_text]
