Combined exciter and governor retrofit

In 2024, Reivax received an award for replacing an aging Fuji cabinet governor system for three (3) Kaplan units. The award also included replacement of an aging static excitation systems and Power Potential Transformers (PPTs) for the three (3) units.

In order to have the highest possible reliability and ease of use for the customer, the excitation and governor logic was implemented in the same processor.  A redundant controller was also added, again with both logic circuits in the same controller.

As part of the hydraulic scope, distribution valves, pilot valve assemblies, position feedback sensors, dual rate closing limiter, duplex filter and brake valve assembly were all replaced with new equipment.
