Reivax upgrades GE EX2100E exciter for 226MVA generator

Learn how Reivax designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned a front-end control upgrade on a GE EX2100E static excitation system

A common problem with digital excitation systems is that after a certain time, 15-20 years, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) will have a problem to supply spare parts, due to obsolescence of the original microprocessors.  After all, microprocessor suppliers have little interest in supplying technology that is 15-20 years old.

A common misconception is that only the OEM is able to undertake this type of upgrade.  However, Reivax specializes in excitation system life extension projects that involves all different OEMs, such as, GE EX2100E/2100/2000, ABB UNITROL F/P/5000, Basler DECS300/2100/ECS2100, Siemens EX-1/EX-2, Andritz Thyne and others.

The success story provides more in-depth explanation of how REIVAX successfully extended the life of their excitation asset by upgrading the control section with new RTX Power excitation controls

REIVAX RTX Power static excitation system is used in hydro and non-hydro generating plants as well as for synchronous motor applications.

Feel free to contact our sales team if you have any excitation system that needs a controls life extension.  Regardless of the OEM, Reivax can help.
