REIVAX is awarded a contract to replace Woodward Atlas digital governor
Montreal (Nov 16th, 2022) – REIVAX NORTH AMERICA has been awarded a contract to supply a new digital governor for a six (6) needle Pelton turbine in the western United States.
Under the contract, REIVAX will furnish an RVX Power digital governor for installation into the existing governor enclosure. A 15″ door-mounted HMI panel will also be delivered for operations, diagnostics and testing.
The new Reivax RVX Power digital governor will replace the Woodward Atlas digital governor, currently operating. The new logic will incorporate logic with different loading levels for certain needle valve combinations. A separate pump mode will also be available in the logic, allowing for different gate opening, droop etc, based on generating or pump mode.
The six (6) needles are individually controlled, each one requiring it’s own control loop and positioning feedback. An additional control loop is also required for the deflector.
