REIVAX AWARDED LARGE TURN-KEY EXCITER PROJECT
Montreal (July 1st, 2023) – REIVAX NORTH AMERICA, a leading provider of excitation systems and digital governors, was awarded a turn-key project to replace aging rotating DC exciter systems with new static excitation systems at the Wolf Creek hydro station, 270MW.
The scope includes:
- Six (6) RTX POWER static excitation systems (1,600Adc) with redundant controllers
- Six (6) Excitation transformers (PPTs)
- Interface engineering, removal, installation, commissioning and training
- Non-segregated DC bus duct to collector ring
- Asbestos and lead abatement of existing equipment
- Collector ring work
- Unit Control Board (UCB) work including a remote HMI panel
- NERC model validation testing (MOD 026, MOD 025, MOD 032)
The fully configurable excitation controllers will form an Ethernet network with the plant DCS as well as REIVAX remote HMI panel and each of the local HMI panels. The remote HMI panel will enable the plant personnel to access each unit from this central location without having to walk through the entire plant. Events are time stamped in the excitation controller with 1ms resolution and are time synchronized with the plant’s satellite clock.
The work at site will start May-2024 and will be completed before end of 2025.
